This camera looks over the Nagawa town-run parking area at Utsukushigahara Highland, right in front of the Yamamoto Goya Furusato-kan lodge. The operator, Ōgatō Camera, points the lens at the lot and the surrounding highland, so the frame is mostly asphalt, parked cars and the treeline beyond. Check it in the morning before you drive up the Utsukushigahara Skyline: in summer the lot fills early with hikers heading for the Ōgatō peak, and in autumn the larch trees turn gold and the light is clear. In winter the road often closes, and the camera shows snow depth and whether the parking area is plowed. If you plan to stay at the lodge or just stop for the view, this is a quick way to judge the cloud level and the wind before committing to the drive.
