This SBS News6 camera covers the Shimizu and Yui area of Shizuoka City, on the coast of Suruga Bay. The view takes in the built-up waterfront where the old Tokaido road once ran between the port of Shimizu and the Yui inlet, with the bay and the hills behind. It is one of the Other cams in Japan that is worth opening when weather moves in off the Pacific: the same stretch of coast catches typhoon swell, sea fog and clear winter views of the mountains across the water. SBS News6 is a local broadcaster, so the picture is most useful during its news hours, when the coast is checked for shipping, fishing boats and road conditions along the bay.
