Camivu is a directory of public webcams. Every listing points to a feed published by the agency, operator or platform that runs the camera, and the cards below say where each pointer came from.
Public bodies and operators, mostly through open-data feeds. Each keeps its own licence; follow the link for it.
Public traffic cameras
State and provincial 511 services, Caltrans, WSDOT, Ohio DOT, TfL JamCams, Transport for NSW, NZTA, Hong Kong Transport Department, Taiwan Freeway Bureau, Fintraffic, Trafikverket and Vlaams Verkeerscentrum publish camera locations and images as open data. Names, coordinates and image or video addresses come from their feeds.
River, dam and weather cams
Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism publishes river cameras through 川の防災情報; weather-camera networks contribute sky and mountain views.
Operator-run live streams
Cities, resorts, harbours, zoos and hobbyists who stream a fixed view around the clock. Playback uses YouTube's own player; the channel keeps its audience and monetisation.
Webcam network (API)
Camera locations, preview images and the embeddable player for cams whose operators publish through Windy. Shown under Windy's attribution terms, with a link back to the source.
Place data
Coordinates, place names and webcam page links used to file cams by place and to write the location text on each page.
Names, coordinates, countries, categories and feed addresses are factual information about the cameras. We clean, file and de-duplicate them across the sources above but do not originate them.
Camera descriptions are written for Camivu. They are not copied from third-party encyclopaedias or databases.
Thumbnails are frames from the camera a page points to and remain the property of their respective owners.
Every feed remains the property of the operator that runs it. Playback runs against the third-party origin.
If a listing points to your content and you want it removed, use the takedown form or email [email protected]. Valid notices are actioned within 24 hours and the address then returns 410 Gone. Removing a listing takes the link off Camivu; the stream itself lives with whoever hosts it, whom you may also wish to contact.
