Utopia Village Top-of-Wall Underwater Reef Cam

This underwater camera watches the top of the reef wall at Utopia Village in Honduras, pointing out across the coral drop-off where the sea floor falls away into deeper water. It is run by Explore Oceans and the picture is live video from a fixed mount, so you see fish swimming past and the light changing minute by minute. Morning is the best time to look: the sun hits the reef face and the water is usually at its clearest, before the afternoon breeze stirs up the surface. Divers use it to check current and visibility before a boat trip, and anyone curious about reef life can scan for snapper, grunts or the occasional turtle crossing the frame. When the video is dark or empty, the current has picked up or the site is shut off for maintenance.
